SNACK TRAGEDY

THIS IS A SNACK MADE UP OF MINOR TRAGEDIES:

I LOVED SAM AND KATE.

MY FAVORITE ITALIANO RESTAURANT IN THE EAST VILLAGE IS CLOSED.

MY DUMBO DREAM IS OFF THE MARKET BECAUSE OF JAY-Z AND BEYONCE.

the only way this could get better is if KATE GETS WITH LEO NOW FINALLY

Snackworm

I had a lot of downtime at work this week!

Here are the books I finished:

Monday March 1

Tuesday March 2

Wednesday March 3

On Thursday March 4 (yestedeh), I tried to finish and read a bit of for good measure and/or recherche for a new play I'm getting inklings on, but there was this party of 30 French dudes that did not want the noodles we sent them so I spent my downtime downing noodles in sauce rather than furthering my Book-a-Day-in-March conquest.

Hey! Also check this out! Sedona Arizona is straight up featured!

Bay Ridge Snack

A journal entry from the train ride home:

The Prince Hotel in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York is on 93rd Street. The streets go up-to-down rather than down-to-up in Brooklyn, so I rightly assumed I was near the water. The Verranzanzos Bridge gleamed and twinkled in the distance. I have a bad habit of grinding my teeth. I'm trying to decide if I should spend money on Ramen or wine. I want to start and finish my Picasso play in four hours because I work best with extreme deadlines. I took pictures for my boss of candlelit tables and a fake Mona Lisa. At the lounge, two guys offered to buy me wine. Fresh Blood in Bay Ridge, I guess it was pretty apparent. I declined and left the lounge only to narrowly escape being hit by a bike only to narrowly escape being hit by a car. Anyway, The Prince Hotel has a flashing sign on the roof, which I've only encountered in horror movies or my idea of horror movies. But it was real. It was festively lined with Alsatian slats. On my way home from Bay Ridge, I finished Nine Stories; "Teddy" might be the best thing I ever read

Bench Snack

Looking through my iPhoto, I found this. Taken three years ago maybe?

Snacktivity

The GM at my restaurant, Buanao, gave me this list that she found, which she called

"Twelve or Thirteen Things That Will Keep Your Brain Active."

-Dancing
-Exercise
-Eat one Egg a Day!
-Multitask
-3 or more 4 ounce glasses of JUICE a week
-Laughter!
-7 hours of sleep a NIGHT
-Reading!
-NO MORE THAN two hours of TV a day
-Spice up your life! With rosemary, basil, cinnamon, turmeric, oregano, thyme and SAGE
-Study another language!
-FLOSS
-5 or more cups of green tea a day (INTENSE)

Good thing I already do all of these things without thinking about it! Onto the next list, Steps to Ensure Your Nobel Peace Prize

Let's Play Snack Up

2010 has brought on a slew of busyments! From here to there and there to here I flit, with tasks, and work, and rehearsals, and Fresh Ground Pepper and books to read and meetings and a new vegetable cookbook for Christmas, and a new apartment that I live in that needs a bit of painting and some shelves..

Of course, this means I have been HEINOUS about snacking in this new decade. I snack in life! Oh yes, of course. But then I forget to transmit said snackery back to my dear bloggo.

I will give you a smattering of my recent snacking in life, and then we can feel all caught up and ready/able to snack the small things again. So let's get started!

I watched Gone With the Wind for the very first time.

I saw Noel Coward's Brief Encounter at St. Ann's Warehouse and it was my favorite thing.

I finished applications to

Soho Think Tank's Ice Factory
